These photographs were taken on trips to Hadrian's Wall and other places.

The White Bull Inn at Ribchester 1959.The four upright columns are taken from the tepedarium of the Roman baths. The four less than upright characters portentously display the predilection for the delights of the hostelry.

After slicing one of their number the wrong way, the boys finally achieve mastery of the guillotine.

From now on your nickname will be Humpty Dumpty.

The travellers discover a strange, previously unknown land.
