Congratulations to Alan Vincent (Joe's 1964/1971), Mayor of Wyre 2009/2010.


Joe’s Old Boy, Councillor Alan Vincent, known at Joe's as Alan Ball, was appointed first citizen of Wyre Borough in 2009. Alan left Joe's in 1971 and, after university, entered the legal profession as a solicitor. In 1983, he was elected to Wyre Borough Council as councillor for Victoria Ward, Cleveleys, and since then has served on several committees including Technical Services, Personnel and Finance. He had previously served as leader and deputy leader and, before being appointed Mayor and was Corporate Resources Portfolio Holder.

Alan's Mayoress was wife Kath and he was supported in his Mayoral role by his six children, including son Michael, who is also a Wyre councillor. His Mayoral charities were  Fleetwood Lifeboat and Trinity Hospice.
